“The Open Retail till system is not perfect, no software is perfect, but they get the very highest recommendations from us.
The most impressive feature however is the service from the support team. No long messages and “select 1 for sales”, just immediate contact with a person on the helpdesk. Problems are solved there and then (they magically take control of your till remotely), even while you have a customer at the till.
It does everything you’d expect a till system to do, and has an impressive set of reports to help you analyse your sales, looking for the good and the bad.
We started from the very ground up, replacing Arkwrights till, and the system was installed and working within 2 days, with zero disruption to our customers.
As an ex IT manager, my favorite feature is the ability to upload products from and Excel spreadsheet (yes, very sad, but when you have to load 450 seed packets, that’s a lot of time and mistakes eliminated)

They always have somebody at the end of the phone to help whether it’s developing the system further or if there is a technical problem.”
